DENISON, TEXAS - Families from across Texoma said goodbye to dozens of soldiers from the Bravo Troop as they head overseas.
That's the march of soldiers off to serve their country.
One by one The Bravo unit filled a park in Denison Friday afternoon, to bid farewell to their friends and family before they head to Africa.
For James Norman, a hometown boy, its bittersweet.
"Leaving the families is always tough but when we decided what we were encountering," said Norman.
In the coming days they will mobilize to the Horn of Africa for Operation Enduring Freedom.
"This mission is critical because its still in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, we want to show Africa and other countries we want to support them in any way," said Norman.
It's an important mission that Norman's family understands, but it doesn't make it any easier.
"Military life is in our family they want to go and I'm behind them 100%," said Norman's mom, Kathleen Harris.
For Norman's son Trevon, his dad's deployment gives him a small taste of what his future will be like when he grows up to fight for his country.
"The reason I'm happy he's deploying is because he can tell me all about it for when I get to go and I'm going to miss him because he's the man in the house," said Trevon Norman.
With tears in their eyes, Norman's family along with other families said their last goodbye to the Bravo Troop.
And Norman says the support of not only his family but the entire community is the best send-off he could ever get.
"The people here are very supportive everywhere we go out they are always thanking us and I really appreciate the community," said Norman.
